DataDrones
Datadrones is a public exhibition that uses robotic drone technology to visualise real-time data.
Datadrones was a public exhibition that used robotic drone technology to visualise real-time data. In a gallery setting the drones rise and fall in response to data inputs from local and global sources such as movement of people in the gallery, twitter traffic etc. The data source visualisations changed at different times of the day and allowed the public to interact directly with the visualisation, for example by inputting a twitter
♯. The drones used LED lights to create dynamic, large-scale data landscapes that move and flow as the information changes.
The Datadrones exhibition was designed especially for the Festival of the Mind Sheffield event with Sheffield Robotics, and combined the public fascination with data visualisation and drones in a novel and unique experience.
